Example of Pre-Arrival info (Self Check In online and Good Housekeeping Deposit)

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE DOING ALL OF THIS TO HELP AVOID ANY ISSUES ON ARRIVAL AND DURING YOUR STAY…

By two weeks before your arrival, you should have received a PayPal invoice from us for the Good Housekeeping Deposit, containing the link and password for the Self Check In online form.

If you don’t have the invoice by email yet from PayPal, have searched junk folders and are within 2 weeks of arrival, please contact us by email (info@amosholidayhomes.co.uk) in case you’ve slipped through the net!

ABOUT THE SELF CHECK IN ONLINE FORM…

Please note that the password is just to allow you to view the Self Check In online form. It does not create a log in for you, or save any data.

When you have completed it and clicked on “Submit” at the bottom, an email will be sent to you and us with a copy of the information you have provided.

This is then further checked by staff against the booking system during office hours/days.

If there is a problem our staff will be in touch as soon as possible.

We do not store any payment details from bookings and do not automatically take any money from you.

FURTHER INFO AND FAQ’s:

Earlier Arrivals / Departures… is our most frequently asked question…

Please kindly resist the temptation to ask if you can, especially on the day of arrival as it may slow us down…

If we can, as we do say in our literature, we will always try to help our guests and automatically offer an earlier arrival if it is available as this helps everyone out. But please be aware that if a family is booked to stay in your property after you, they and we would need you to vacate on time for their arrival. The same goes for you, if we have had a family in before you, you and we would expect them to leave in time for your arrival.

The properties are not small and take time to clean. The hot tubs are commercial grade and take to time drain/sanitise/refill/reheat/re-treat.

Please rest assured that as soon as we can see an opportunity to confirm an earlier check in time, for you, we will let you know by email, sms or phone call as soon as we can, but due to last minute bookings and how clean previous guests left the property, this is entirely unpredictable.

We always try to prioritise families, especially with infants, but most bookings are for families anyway.

If we have no booking in before or after you, we may, if we can, offer to get your holiday started earlier or be able to extend your stay, but this would incur charges as it knocks the staff out of schedule.

Again, we will automatically offer this if available but we do accept last minute bookings so it would be rare that we could promise anything until much nearer to the time (within a day or so of arrival).

The standard arrival time is 4pm and the standard departure time is 10am .

This is strict unless otherwise notified by us directly.

What to take with you and what you can’t take (sorry!)…

(we apologise for a lot being written but a lot is due to problems guests have experienced/caused previously)

For a suggested list of what to do or pack before you travel, please see the “BEFORE TRAVEL” section on page 7 of the welcome book but please also read the following text. The link to the welcome book is in the Self Check In online form which you can access at two weeks to go.

Please prepare for the unforeseen and for events beyond anyone’s control (such as adverse weather etc) by bringing appropriate provisions and equipment for your stay (including some good old fashioned games and entertainment!)

Beds are made up ready and some towels provided for indoor use only (linen and towels are white and are owned by an external laundry company so please take care of them)

Please remember to take extra towels for outside and hot tub use and a hairdryer if needed.

The BBQ takes coal, we recommend instant light bags.

The wood burning stove take logs only, not coal, coal will cause damage, please do not overfill with logs or close the door on logs protruding, otherwise the special fire glass may crack.

For coffee, we supply cafetières so any ground coffee will do (no need for specific pods or filter paper).

Ovens/grills are electric (hobs in plots 1-8 at Ramshorn Estate run on bottled gas).

Each property has at least one fridge and freezer and extra where guest capacity is higher, please do not over-fill them as the shelving is not designed to take lots of heavy bulky items, and cooling times will obviously increase.

Guest gazebo’s, portable shelters, BBQ’s, firepits and candles are not allowed sorry.

Irons and ironing boards are supplied.

Hair dryers, clothing steamers, torches/lanterns, candles, USB sockets and device chargers are not supplied sorry.

Any electrical items which you intend on plugging into the power should be PAT tested. Charging of electronic vehicles on site is strictly prohibited and can damage the power supply, anyone found charging a vehicle will be asked to leave sorry (we do plan on installing EV chargers in the future).

Pets, if allowed in the property, must never be left unattended, not roam freely outside and must sleep in a crate (not provided).

Please remember your property is self catering, you should find all the equipment you need to cook with but you must take ALL of your own kitchen and bathroom consumables. For your comfort on arrival, we do provide a small amount of bathroom and cleaning items but not enough for your stay so please ensure you bring enough.

As our properties are located in rural and conservation sensitive locations, please also come prepared and in sensible vehicles, as paths, driveways and some roads may not be tarmacked, treated or cleared of debris during adverse weather conditions and there may be little or no street lighting. If you are travelling to us in the winter please consider arriving in suitable vehicles (recreational off-road vehicles are not allowed sorry).

Please arrive in a minimal number of vehicles where you can. There is enough parking outside each property for the number of guests allowed, but any cars that cannot fit onto the property drive should park off site and parking in such a way that blocks potential access of emergency vehicles must be strictly avoided please for everyone’s benefit. Again, charging of electronic vehicles on site is strictly prohibited and can damage the power supply, anyone found charging a vehicle will be asked to leave sorry (we do plan on installing EV chargers in the future).

Directions can be found on page 9 of your welcome book (typing “Amos Holiday Homes” into Google Maps does find our properties but please be aware that there are a few in England and Wales at different locations, so for an accurate location please use the one in your specific welcome book).
